Draft Al Gore – The Clock Is Ticking
Mon Oct 08, 2007 at 06:23:21 PM PDT
For the many millions of us who REALLY want to see Al Gore get into this race, the clock is ticking ever faster.
I strongly believe that we must increase our efforts immediately, in order to convince Al Gore that he MUST run in 2008! I think that he will decide to run, perhaps only if he feels overwhelming support for him to do so, starting with the grassroots...
In addition to convincing Al to run, we must work fast to get his name on the primary ballots, especially as some of the filing deadlines are approaching very quickly!
The MSM is finally starting to take notice of the Draft Gore movement, as can be seen in Newsweek and the Washington Times among others. In addition to this, a lot of chatter is finally starting in the MSM, about the likelihood of Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize this Friday morning
How Can You Help?
12,396 Sigs by OCT 23 to get AL GORE on Michigan Ballot
Tue Sep 18, 2007 at 09:51:02 PM PDT
I just now received an urgent email from the Michigan Draft Gore Campaign...
12,396 signatures of registered MI voters are needed by October 23rd, in order to get Al's name on the Michigan primary. (since Michigan just moved up the date of the primary to Jan. 15th...)
I think this must be one of the earliest of the filing deadlines...
This is a great opportunity for Gore supporters to get some more early momentum going (in the latest MI poll of likely Democratic primary voters, Gore received the most votes, 36%, compared with Hillary's 32%).
If you, or anyone you know, will be in Michigan between now and Oct. 23rd, and would like to see Gore's name on the ballot, this is an opportunity to help out...
Ideas for Rapid Response to Lies/Distortions about AL GORE from MSM and Blogs
Thu Sep 13, 2007 at 02:46:52 PM PDT
I have been an avid reader/lurker of DailyKos since 2004. Like many others, today I am posting my first diary, and it was "Blog for Gore Day" which finally motivated me to "take the plunge".
Like many of you, I often spend hours searching for, and reading, diaries about Al Gore on DailyKos (he is obviously my preferred candidate, and has been since at least the 2004 election). In an earlier blog today, there was a link to this blog about Gore on another website. This blog entry had some associated comments from the "koolaid drinking wackos" crowd, who were spouting off various lies/distortions about Al Gore, Global Warming, and everything in between. It looked to me like there were probably ~5 negative comments for every positive comment, and I had to question why more people were not posting rebuttals to the 'wingnuts'. I finally got angry enough myself to post a comment in response, and this got me to thinking...
How can we best organize a "rapid response" team, to defend Al Gore in the MSM, blogs, and anywhere else we come across these types of lies and distortions?
