I find it amazing that geo-engineering is so controversial in environmental circles. I realize that unintended consequences can result in more harm than good, but even if we cap emissions we are unlikely to do so fast enough, as Dr. Hansen's speech yesterday outlined, in order to prevent massive extinctions and death.

I would hope that Obama and McCain would put these concepts on the table as a positive solution to Global Warming.

I never saw anything like this in previous years until I went into the store on the campus of Northeastern University in Boston last fall.

Holy Cow! I know he was at one point saying great things about public financing of the presidential campaign. But he would make a very foolish mistake to stick with that.

NO WAY McSame pulls in this kind of cash.

NO WAY he match the Obama resources.

I know it's early.

I know there's a lot of work to do.

I know the election is a long way off.

But at this point in the year, Obama has a far more substantial BASE in the Electoral College than McCain does, and he has MANY ways to win, whereas McSame has to thread the needle to take the White House.

In 2006 I bought a used Prius from the sister of a former student. She was going away to grad school on the East Coast and needed the money. She hated selling it. I wanted to buy it after seeing Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" and wanted to take more practical steps to save the environment.

What kind of car inspires such a passion? Two years later I understand why. I feel it was one of the best moves I ever made, and I'm wondering if all cars will be hybrids in 1- years.

The other side is really getting desperate trying to stop the movement and momentum Obama has right now. They're dredging up a so-called World Poverty tax on Americans that will hit each family for an $8,500 bill!

HuffPo has an interview with Don Siegelman that expounds at great lunch on just how horrible this guy is.

It's a stance I've held since he unkindly, inaccurately and without a shread of decency torpedoed John McCain and his wife in 2000 for having the human decency of adopting an orphan who badly needed parents when they were touring Vietnam.

He calls to mind the great words of the man who took down Joe McCarthy: "At long last, sir, have you NO decency?"

Heard this from David Gergen tonight on CNN... as they hashed over the impossibility of her campaign after the Indiana result.

My Reaction: PLEASE BARACK, DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is exceptionally discouraging to many, but I believe that Ed Rindell's comment about the people of his state can possibly be extrapolated to many states in the GE: "This country isn't ready for a black president." That people would use THAT excuse to vote against a great candidate is stunning to me, but I think Obama will have to talk about it more as the campaign stretches on...

I know there's a lot of garbage going on, but this virulent strain even has a name that sound so official, the "Denver Plan," and would involve Al Gore stepping in as the nominee...

I doubted it when everyone was assuming she came in with $20 million, just because Wolfson wouldn't put a specific figure on it and some sources floated that number. Now the truth may show yet another BIG LIE from the Clintons!

NAFTA, Bosnia, whatever. Lying to her seems more natural than it does to Bill. But with the SCORES of reports in recent days from small business people not paid for their wares, her stiffing her old high school and currently having on the books MILLIONS in debt, there's more BS coming from her campaign that everything is just fine.

OK, it was most definitely the worst week for HRC this year, other than losing in Iowa maybe. The bad news just keeps piling up, there were reports today that big donors are not ponying up the cash and paychecks may be cut in half or withheld sometime in the near future.

I've been an Obama backer since his 2004 speech at the DNC. I was a former Illinois resident, talked to a lot of people after the speech and was struck by how many, dating back to his days as a community organizer, used to think, "Some day that guy is going to be president." Crazy, but that's the impression he left on people, even Republicans, that he was a gifted political leader.
