Why James Jones Cannot Be VP
Tue Jun 10, 2008 at 09:36:23 AM PDT
This diary is for the edification of all my fellow Kossacks, but it is primarily for the Obama campaign, which tirelessly scours the net like any good campaign should. The underlining thesis of this diary is simple. General James Jones cannot be VP.

The super in question won't endorse until tomorrow, but we definitely know about it tonight!
Obama Would Consider Gore for Cabinet or VP

Really, the title says it all. The full text of the article below:
Breaking: Hillary explains war vote!
Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 09:34:54 AM PDT
I have always been baffled by Hillary's vote for the war, and any Democratic politician's for that matter. To me it shows a striking lack of judgment or courage, or both. The war broke out when I was 17; even then I knew the administration's claims regarding WMDs were in all probability bunk. But Hillary has finally clarified the logic underlining her war vote. I have to say, it's made me reevaluate my support for Obama. Her explanation over the fold!
Ferraro: Let's Connect the Dots
Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 02:50:51 PM PDT
The Ferraro incident shines a lot of light on the Clinton campaign. I'll try to be brief and link two bits of news from today to paint a picture of internal strife.
Ferarro Clarifies Her Remarks
Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 02:48:54 PM PDT
Earlier this week, Clinton surrogate Geraldine Ferraro said something many of us found distasteful. Thankfully, she has clarified her remarks.
March 4-8: Obama Widens Pledged Delegate Lead
Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 01:48:33 PM PDT
This is a quick diary to show where the delegate math stands. When all is said and done, Obama has gained more pledged delegates than Hillary has since and including Tuesday. Join me over the fold for the math.
To Obama supporters who are down
Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 08:23:09 PM PDT
Tonight wasn't the knock out blow we wanted, but I think it'll end up being like Super Tuesday: initially spun as a Clinton win, but when the dust settled people saw the numbers. With the Texas caucus, Obama will win more of the 3/4 delegates than HRC will. But if that doesn't cheer you up, look at the up coming states.
Clinton Supported NAFTA in 2002
Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 09:23:07 PM PDT
A short diary since I have to go to bed, but our good friend David Sirota has caught Hillary in a game changing lie. She asserts that she publicly supported NAFTA as First Lady but held private reservations. She claims upon becoming a Senator she felt that the program needed to be drastically overhauled. Sadly, this now appears to be not exactly true.
Rasmussen NH shows Obama's the one
Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 02:35:05 PM PDT
With his 7th consecutive victory last night, Obama comfortably slipped into the role of the frontrunner in Madison last night. He blasted McCain for his support for Bush's needless and perhaps criminal war, and for the "maverick's" transparent flip-flopping on the issue of torture.
One should note that Obama showed his political savvy last night. Though he was attacking McCain in full force general election mode, many of his criticism applied to Hillary as well. Did she not too vote for the war? Did she not too support the Kyl-Lieberman amendment? We saw how effective Kerry was at attacking Bush regarding the war when he had the albatross off the IWR around his neck, and Obama does a favor in reminding us that a hawk is a hawk regardless of partisan affiliation.
But that is all tangential. And more importantly, while it is intellectual honesty for Obama to start acting like the front runner Hillary is far from out. The demographics of Ohio and Texas speak to her strengths. She can still raise money by the millions, though I would like to see how much of that is reserved for the general. And most importantly, she still enjoys widespread suppost amongst party bigwigs.
On March 5th Howard Dean will decide for us
Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 06:22:36 PM PDT
I have now become convinced that on March 5, the day after Super Tuesday II: Electric Boogaloo, Howard Dean will pick the Democratic nominee for president. This diary will explain how and why.
There's Finally a Plan for Victory in Iraq!
Wed Aug 22, 2007 at 02:54:53 PM PDT
It brings me great joy to announce that a recent development in America's position on Iraq has made a plan for victory possible and easily spelled out. Join me over the fold!
Hillary Clinton's Discrimination Gaffe
Fri Aug 10, 2007 at 07:47:33 AM PDT
During the LOGO forum on LGBT issues that occurred yesterday, Hillary Clinton made a gaffe that made me cringe. She was questioned about DODT and DOMA, as to be expected, since these controversial acts were enacted under her husband's administration. During the DOMA question, Hillary dropped the ball.
Cheney Behind Attempt to Bring Maliki Down
Sun Jul 08, 2007 at 09:34:32 AM PDT
The Iraqi government has not been exactly effective one could say. With difficulty achieving parliamentary quorums, dozens of members living outside the country, and politicians who frequently put sectarian interests before all else, the Iraqi government has not been a significant player in working to end the violence in Iraq (then again, who has been besides the anti-war activists?). Prime Minister Maliki now faces a vote of no confidence, but I find the identities of the potential architects of such a move to be rather disturbing to say the least.
Fletcher Win in KY Primary Elicits GOP Gloom
Tue May 22, 2007 at 08:14:33 PM PDT
So as many of you may now know, Steve Beshear beat DLC crypto-Republican big money Bruce Lunsford by 40.9 to 21.4. Congratulations to all Kentucky Kossacks out there! Not only does this mean that we have a really good shot at the governor's mansion this fall, but this was a mighty blow to Mitch McConnell as well. Lunsford was friends with the Senate Minority Leader, and would not have helped us take him down in the '08 campaign. As a result, the chance to avenge Daschle becomes a greater and greater possibility.
Shiite Police Massacre 60 civilians in Revenge Killings
Wed Mar 28, 2007 at 06:31:29 AM PDT
As you may unfortunately already know, two massive car bombs went off in Iraq yesterday in the city of Tal Afar, killing scores. I'm not sure yet if we've talked about the aftermath of the attack, and it's gruesome implications. Join me over the fold.
Police Teargas peaceful anti-war protestors
Sat Mar 10, 2007 at 07:13:20 PM PDT
This will be a short diary since I can't say very much without using lots of four letter words. Roughly 100 protestors were demonstrating at Tacoma Washington, to protest the war and rally against a shipment of Stryker vehicles to Iraq. They did not attempt to block the shipment, they were orderly, and the area they were at was approved by the authorities.
ING Bails out of SS Coulter
Thu Mar 08, 2007 at 06:11:41 AM PDT
Hey everybody. I like to read DKos a lot, but mostly as a means of finding out ways to engage in net activism, be it donating to Act Blue, signing the Gore Pledge, or anything else. So I contacted ING yesterday regarding their ad on Coulter's site. I wasn't expecting a response, but please join me over the fold for some good news to start your day.
