It's a hostage situation - Clinton wants ransom

It's 3am, and the Democratic Party has just gotten a call from Senator Clinton.

Heed her demands or the party suffers.

Clinton knows the numbers as well as anyone else. She can't win.  She wants something else.

This extended bitter fight is designed to hold the nomination hostage until she gets something she wants.

The question is - what's the ransom?

She can't have the Presidency.  She knows this.  So what is it?

Here are a few theories:

1) Vice President Hillary Clinton
We all know that she doesn't WANT to be VP, but she might settle for VP with the belief that she would be untouchable.  She would maintain much of her influence and could continue to tap supprt from longtime donors and lobbyists.

2) It's all about the benjamins
Can anyone clarify an election finance question for me?  If Clinton is named VP, does she still have access to her pledged support from the Hillary for President funds that are restricted to the general election.  If so, then this might all be about the money and the campaign debt.

3) Stealth candidate
Is Hillary trying to drag this to Denver in order to hand the nomination to someone who is more supportive of the DNC?  Bill as VP?

4) Clinton 2012
Cause irreparable damage to the Democratic nominee, enable a Republican win and 4 more years of devastation to the economy and world.  When the country is fatally ill - come to the rescue in 2012 - President Munchaussen by Proxy.
